Elijah is an investor with Variant who focuses on infrastructure, MEV, DeFi, and technically ambitious early-stage projects. Before Variant, he founded Duality, a crypto exchange that reached over $100M in traded volume and was acquired. At Duality, he published foundational research on onchain auctions and consensus. The ideas in that research have since made their way into the roadmaps of the Ethereum and Solana blockchains.

As a former founder with deep technical experience, he works closely with teams building new mechanisms, markets, and infrastructure at the earliest stages.
