Jake is an advisor at Variant, working with our team to help founders understand the policy landscape in Washington, D.C., and design products that benefit from regulatory clarity.

 

Jake was previously Chief Policy Officer at the Blockchain Association, the crypto industry’s primary advocacy group on matters of U.S. policy. Before that, he was General Counsel at Compound Labs, where he helped pioneer the “progressive decentralization” playbook that became canon for regulatory strategy across the industry.

Jake began his legal career with Baker McKenzie LLP, where he focused on anti-money laundering compliance and investigations. He later represented individual and corporate clients in crypto-related securities litigation and government enforcement defense at Kobre & Kim LLP.
